Join us for Worship!
Through our worship, we seek to invite people of all backgrounds to be a part of our community of faith and mission. Our worship experiences employ various art forms, including music, dance, and poetry, as avenues of spiritual enrichment.
At The Church of the Village, we worship in both English and Spanish. Most Sundays we hold two separate services, each spoken in one language or the other, and on the Sundays when we hold a combined service (led in English), simultaneous Spanish translation is provided through an interpreter.
Sunday 10:30 am, West Village (in English)
(Holy communion is celebrated during worship on the first Sunday of the month; there is a healing service on the third Sunday..)
Led by Bishop Alfred Johnson, Sunday morning worship in the West Village includes a children's message, choral and instrumental music, and monthly services of healing and Holy Communion. Children's Sunday School is held during the service after the children's message, and the congregation gathers for fellowship during coffee hour following the service.
Sunday 1:30 pm, East Village (in Spanish)
Led by Rev. Hector Laporta, Sunday afternoon worship in the East Village is celebrated in Spanish. The service includes congregational singing of Coritos and other hymns, as well as a time of individual and community prayer.
Special Services
Other special services are held periodically, including music meditations and observances of Holy Days such as Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Check this page and our online calendar for further details as these services develop.
